Access to quality healthcare is a luxury that many in Tanzania’s underserved communities cannot afford. At Give a Future Foundation, we are committed to ensuring that every mother and child receives the care they need, especially during one of the most vulnerable moments of life: childbirth.
In the bustling Keko Mwanga maternity ward, 90 babies are born every day. Despite the high demand, the ward lacked essential facilities, forcing mothers and newborns to endure long waits, often without proper seating or medical care. Mothers would sit in the heat, waiting for the attention of the only doctor on staff, struggling to find comfort during what should be a joyful experience. Recognizing this urgent need, we decided to take action. We built a new maternity ward, fully equipped to handle the volume of births, and hired an additional doctor to provide the care these mothers deserve. Our goal is simple: to provide every woman with a safe and dignified childbirth experience, regardless of her financial circumstances.
But our commitment to healthcare doesn’t stop there. Beyond maternity care, we aim to provide comprehensive health education to the communities we serve, focusing on key areas such as maternal support, mental health, nutrition, and sex education. By empowering people with knowledge, we are helping to create healthier, more informed communities. Through our efforts, we hope to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates while fostering a sense of dignity and care for every patient.
The aim of our foundation is to alleviate poverty among underprivileged residents
of Tanzania, enabling them to lead full, meaningful, and dignified lives.
